    Description

A lovely hand painted inkwell with flowers in the center and along the top of the well.  It has gold ticking and highlights and gold trim along the rim.  It is approx. 5-1/2" long and 4" wide.  The top of the well is 2-1/2" high  The gold seems to be about 95% intact.  On the front of the piece is a place to hold two pens or quills. There is a very small error on the edge of the front and a unglazed area on the bottom.  Neither is noticeable without picking it up to see the bottom.  No lid available. Marked in blue with the letter H over crossed staff and the word Dresden written on the bottom.  This mark is attributed to the Franziska Hirsch decorating studio, Dresden, Germany circa 1893 - 1930.
